The Great Fire: It is 1666 and Thomas Farriner is the King’s baker and he supplies bread and biscuit for the Navy. He works with his daughters Mary and Hannah and sister-in-law, Sarah Farriner, in his Pudding Lane bakery. Thomas leaves with a delivery and after he shows up at the Navy yards, it soon becomes clear he’s not going to be paid. Samuel Pepys is able to help him in another way though getting him to deliver a letter confirming the fate of Will Farriner. Thomas leaves his daughter Hannah in charge and heads to his sister-in-law with a heavy heart. After he returns home he find the bakery on fire and his two daughters asleep upstairs.
